Toyota Hospitality Lounge
2025
User Research / Spatial Design
In Essense:
Hosted during the World Para Swimming Championship 2025, Toyota wanted a space to support not only their own athletes participating, but also welcome every other athlete. The space was designed with the para athletes in mind, ensuring that their needs are met with a comfortable space.
Getting into the needs of para athletes
Not everyday a project would require such special consideration. It is easy to take basic actions and considerations for granted, but when put into the mindset and needs for those with disabilities, it is taking personas to another level of thought and consideration. Taking learnings from global standards from para Olympics when creating a space designed for literally everyone.
Designing a multi use space
A space not just for relaxation and recovery for athletes it also had to serve as a space for Toyota to conduct their media sessions. This shifted the design principles to become modular, while retaining the stability of fixed structures. Lots of discussions between us and clients ultimately lead to a plan that fit the bill.
